ME/CFS San Diego is now a 501c3 public charity!
Welcome to the ME/CFS San Diego Essay Contest page! Our annual contest aims to engage students in critical conversations around Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) by encouraging research, advocacy, and innovative thinking. Each year, we invite students from various disciplines to submit essays that contribute to raising awareness, enhancing understanding, and advancing solutions for ME/CFS and related conditions.
The contest is an opportunity for students to share their insights, explore solutions, and propose impactful ideas that can make a difference for those living with ME/CFS. Whether through cutting-edge research, advocacy for structural reforms, or suggestions for improved public awareness and healthcare practices, we are proud to foster a platform that elevates the voices of the next generation of leaders in this field.
The 2025–2026 UC San Diego ME/CFS Essay Contest invites students to imagine a future where people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) can truly thrive.
Students are asked to propose an idea, big or small, personal or systemic, that could improve the lives of people living with ME/CFS. For more information about our current contest, please go to: ME/CFS San Diego Essay Current Contest Details
