Raising Awareness for ME/CFS: A Simple Act of Support 

Millions Missing May 2026: Raising ME/CFS Awareness Actions 💙 

Help us raise awareness for ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) by creating visible shows of ME/CFS solidarity! 

For ME/CFS May Awareness month (especially on May 12th International ME/CFS Awareness Day), we want people to wear or display these items on bags, backpacks, purses, or hang them in public spaces to show their support for the Millions Missing from ME/CFS. This simple act can spark conversations and show support for this often invisible illness.

How to Participate

There are many ways you can get involved in spreading awareness! Whether you’re interested in volunteering your time or simply displaying a ribbon, every action helps make a difference.

• Display an Awareness Ribbon: Simply display a ribbon in your home, workspace, or in your community to help raise awareness for ME/CFS. 

• We launched a photo gallery last year featuring some of the beautiful ribbons and creative displays we’ve received so far  (and the stories behind the photos)! We will update it as we get more stories and photos!

• Volunteer Your Time: Volunteers can help in various ways!

🔹 Calling All Crocheters & Makers! Help us create blue awareness ribbons to represent the millions missing from ME/CFS. Whether you make a few or many, every piece helps spark visibility and conversation. Crocheter's Page

🔹 Help package ribbons for distribution (supplies form, final packaged ribbon video)

🔹 Volunteer to distribute ribbons in your local community

🔹 Help find places/organizations that can share ribbons

🔹 Share ideas or connect us with media (any journalist connections would be very appreciated) or groups who want to spread awareness

If you've spotted a ribbon, picked one up and are displaying it, or have a story to share, we'd love to hear from you! 

No matter how you choose to participate, you'll be helping to increase awareness of ME/CFS and encourage more people to recognize and understand this often minimized and invisible illness.. Together, we can make a difference!
